Avocado Industries Icon

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

I’m creating a vector graphic for Avocado Industries, a company that specializes in food styling, jewelry and fine art. The client wanted a retro propaganda poster style icon for her website (which I’ll be redesigning too). Here are the first sketches and starting point. I only did one version so far because she had a very clear vision of what she wanted and we’ll be working on it together tomorrow.

Clean Slate

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

I picked up the guitar this Sunday and it is hanging out in my dining room face down. The giant-sized bubble wrap around the top makes an extremely loud tooting sound when you step on it. I was also just at the artist appreciation party where I found out I actually have the last 10′ guitar, and here she is. If you can see the dark blue metal thing by the coffee table, that’s the stand, which will be encased in cement once the guitar is done and clear coated.

shyama vs guitar
I’ll be one of the artists to paint a 10′ tall Gibson Les Paul guitar for Austin Guitar town. The fiberglass sculpture will be installed downtown after being unveiled at SXSW in March. My idea is to have a sort of guitar’s eye view of a local show, with the fans in front and the band on the back, here’s my preliminary sketch.
