Where’s my glamour-shot filter?

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Self portraits are a little awkward because you have to consciously try not to overflatter yourself, but It’s been a few years so I figure I’m due for one. Total time invested was about an hour for the pencil study and then of course another 30 minutes for some color in Photoshop. I couldn’t resist sticking my leg in the scanner for that fabric to be shown off in all it’s heather-gray glory.

tablet practice

So I’m in Houston without my scanner and had no choice but to play with this Wacom tablet thing. It still feels a tiny bit unnatural to me compared to old-school pencil to paper, but I managed to draw this guy at the piano (taken from yesterday’s condo photo shoot). Too bad he has no purpose. So far I like the tablet better for touchups than whole illustrations, but that may change after some more practice.

Photo project for the Railyard site

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006

Just took some shots of another condo for the Railyard site today. I still have so much to learn before I can become one with this camera. Hopefully this weekend in Houston I’ll get to practice and it will stop mocking me.
